Social Enterprise
Jingando Ltd is a social enterprise. Our business is driven by social goals and all profits are re-invested towards our core social purposes, which are to provide opportunities of a better life to disadvantage and socially excluded young people, and to do so by marketing products that are great quality, well priced and ethically sound.
We currently provide 25% of the funding for a social project in Rio de Janeiro, which provides occupational alternatives and education to at–risk young people in a low income area of Rio de Janeiro. We help support this project because it provides opportunities to children and teenagers whose social and economic situation limits their access to education, aspirations and potential for social development. Sweatshop Free
Jingas are sweatshop free shoes: that means that the people producing them are not in forced or bonded labour, are paid above the minimum wage and are employed under legal contract,which gives them their full legal rights as employees. There are no minors (children) employed or used in the production process.
Vegan
Jingas are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans: not to eat, of course! What this means is that no animal products (leather, animal-based glues etc) are used in the making of Jingas.
Green Office

We have a strict recycling policy in our office, and recycle everything possible!

We get all our stationary through The Green Stationary Company, who (for those of you with companies of your own) are just as well-priced as mainstream competitors, give excellent customer service and have tons of green alternatives to your regular office products.

We get our marketing materials printed on recycled card and board;

We send out our mail order in bio–degradable ‘ecopoly’ mailers. We are particularly pleased with these as we had been searching hard for an environmentally friendly mailing solution for a while.
We are always looking out for ways that we can improve our eco–friendly credentials as we grow and we will be reporting on this. It’s going to be a process of continual improvement and if you have any suggestions then email them across!
